About Us

Founded in 1984, the Gold Coast Philharmonic Orchestra has remained the Coast’s only full-sized community orchestra. We bring together highly-skilled, amateur local musicians in an ensemble capable of performing anything from popular songs and movie soundtracks through to the most demanding symphonic repertoire.

For the musician, we offer a stimulating and supportive musical and social environment. Your skills are sure to improve from the special challenge of performing to a large audience, and the discipline of playing in a group while following a conductor’s directions. For the music lover, we stage a variety of concerts and events that provide high quality music in convivial surroundings at a very modest cost.

Learn how to become a playing member of the orchestra. We have URGENT vacancies for the following instruments: violin, viola, double bass, french horn and percussion. If you are interested in conducting the orchestra, and have appropriate experience, then we’d also like to hear from you.
