A full house greets four hands

A full house greeted piano duo Judy Gadaloff and Nan Thomson as they presented a concert of piano duets. The appreciative audience were treated to a program including Slavonic Dance No.1 & 2 Opus 72 by Dvorak, Norwegian Dance No.1 & 2 Opus 35 by Grieg, a Polka from “Schwanda the Bagpiper” by J. Weinberger and Hungarian Dances No. 2 & 21 – Brahms.

Chris Woo, a 1st violinist from the Gold Coast Philharmonic Orchestra joined Judy to perform the 1st movement of the Violin Concerto Op 48 by Kabalevsky and a most beautiful piece of music new to most of the audience from video games.

Judy and Nan then completed the afternoon of music with Tico Tico, A Latin American Dance by Zequinha Abreu and Sabre Dance by Khachaturian. Following the concert the guests were treated to a magnificent home baked afternoon tea. A truly pleasant end to an afternoon of fine music.

We welcomed many new friends to the Philharmonic and look forward to preparing more music to delight in 2013.
