Stephanie Agius – Trumpet

Where were you born?

If you weren’t born on the Gold Coast, when did you move here?
In 1992 I think. Can’t remember the exact year, but I know I was only little.

Who was your most influential person in terms of your music career?
I’d have to say Louis Armstrong.

Do you play any other instruments?
Not really. I can sort of play the trombone but I’m not good at it.

What is your occupation?
I’m an assistant in nursing at a nursing home.

What other ensembles have you played in or been a part of?
I’ve played in the Gold Coast City Wind Orchestra, Gold Coast Philharmonic Orchestra, a few amateur theatre groups around the Gold Coast.

What are some of your other interests outside of the orchestra?
Paul McCartney, The Bealtes, Elvis ( I’m obsessed) Facebook, hanging out with a few of my mates, looking
at funny cat pictures on google.

What is your favourite part about playing in the GCPO?
Getting to meet new people and hanging with friends. Oh and playing music of course

How long have you been playing in the GCPO?
For about 4 years I think.

What is your favourite style of music?
I love listening to and playing classical, and anything that features trumpets 🙂

What has been you favourite work performed with the orchestra?
I would have to say 1812 Overture, Marche Slave, Fanfare for the Common man and Jupiter from the Planets suite.
